Verso’s Home Run – Episode 5

My first ever 2 hour FULL show with special guest Jeanette Hewitt. After a tricky start where I forgot to switch on her mic (twice) I think I settled down and began to enjoy myself.

As it was #WorldBookDay the focus of the show was on books but we did cover a few other things.

  • When Will I Be Famous – Bros (for Barry Walne)
  • I Am Woman – Helen Reddy (Jeanette’s Choice 1)
  • The Gambler – Kenny Rogers
  • Windmill in Old Amsterdam – Ronnie Hilton (for Katie Versey and Mr Jingles)
  • 9 to 5 – Dolly Parton (Jeanette’s Choice 2)
  • Ain’t No Pleasing You – Chas n Dave
  • Anyone Who Had a Heart – Cilla Black
  • Altogether Now – The Farm
  • I Don’t Like Mondays – Boomtown Rats (Jeanette’s Choice 3)

Jeanette Hewitt

We discussed her writing, how she started, what she’s written to date and the future. As with all my guests she chose 3 favourite songs and we nattered about day to day things.

Her song choices were:-

1) I Am Woman – Helen Reddy
2) 9 to 5 – Dolly Parton
3) I Don’t Like Mondays – Boomtown Rats

Here’s her bio which I shamelessly took form the CANELO website:-

J.M. Hewitt is the author of eight crime fiction novels. Her work has also been published in three short story anthologies. Her books usually incorporate twentieth and twenty-first century events and far-flung locations, and her novels explore the darker side of human behaviour. In contrast to the sometimes dark content of her books, she lives a very nice life in a seaside town in Suffolk with her dog, Marley.
